The latest to hit the market is Telecom Fiji Limited’s recently launched international calling service for prepaid customers named “BulaFiji” and described as “a cheap international calling service for its prepaid customers”.
BulaFiji is a joint venture initiative between Sky Telecom—a global communications solutions provider of Los Angeles, California—and TFL.Consumers have the choice to either sign up for call plans or buy calling cards.
For example, a $10 calling card entitles you to about 100 minutes of talk-time with someone in Canada. Meanwhile, at the launch of the BulaFiji, communications permanent secretary, Banuve Kaumaitotoya said it was the vision of her ministry to steer Fiji to be the trade centre of the South Pacific.
“Ambitious it may be to some, but today the launching of this BulaFiji product is a testimony that it can be achieved.
“I assure you that government is satisfied to see the realisation of its intent behind deregulation in the telecommunications and ICT markets in this ingenuity, the BulaFiji.” |
